WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was arrested after driving his car through a fence during a party and barricading himself in a West Sacramento home Saturday afternoon.
The man was arrested outside of a home near Limewood Road and Lemon Tree Drive around 6:10 p.m. after he came out with his hands up, West Sacramento police Lt. Todd Sockman said.
The incident started earlier Saturday at a party a few blocks down for the home where the man got into an argument with some people. Witnesses told police the man had a gun at the time of the argument.
Sockman said after the argument, the man got into his car, drove through the surrounding fence and headed towards party goers. The fence got caught on the car and was dragged; people at the party were knocked off their feet as the man drove through the area.
The man then fled to the home on Limewood Road, where he refused to come out after police arrived on scene.
Eventually, the man turned himself to police. A woman was also in the home at the time of the standoff; Sockman said her relationship to the suspect is unclear and is unsure if she will be arrested.
The people injured at the party were taken to the hospital for treatment; the extent of their injuries is unclear.
