Stockton police search for suspect in city's 44th homicide

STOCKTON, CA - Police search for a man suspected of shooting and killing another man outside of a north Stockton home early Saturday morning.

James Morales, 44, is wanted in connection to the murder of Jesse Jimenez, 68, Stockton police Officer Joe Silva said.

Morales allegedly got into an argument with Jimenez outside of a home on the 2300 block of Dwight Way around 1:30 a.m., which escalated into a shooting. Silva said Morales fled the scene in a small white 2006 Nissan Altima.

When officers arrived at the scene, Jimenez was already dead. Interviews with several people, who were at the home at the time of the shooting, lead investigators to Morales as a suspect.

Morales is described as an Hispanic man with a light complexion, 5'5", weighing 160 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair;
