RENO, Nev. (AP) - State wildlife officials have tranquilized and removed a mountain lion that wandered into a downtown Reno entertainment plaza and hid under a stage.

Reno police say guests at Harrah's casino reported seeing the cat running in the plaza and trying to enter the building through a revolving door about 5 a.m. Friday.

The young male was found under an outdoor stage. He's described as 70 to 80 pounds and healthy.

Wildlife officials tagged the mountain lion's ear and will fit him with a special collar so he can participate in the University of Nevada, Reno Mountain Lion Study.

Officials plan to release him into the wild.

Roads surrounding the plaza at Virginia and 2nd streets were briefly closed during the ordeal.

No injuries were reported.
