STOCKTON, CA - The San Joaquin Pride center will be holding its first ever Stockton Pride Festival for its LGBT community this Saturday, Aug. 25 at Oak Grove Regional Park from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The goal of the festival is to celebrate diversity and educate the public about the importance of respect, tolerance and equality, according to the event's website.
The event is considered family friendly, and includes a children's play zone, a teen dance tent and local cultural performances. There will also be live bands and performances.
An arts and crafts booth that celebrates the LGBT community, food vendors and a beer garden will also be available.
The event is free to the public.
Oak Grove Regional Park is located at 4520 W. Eight Mile Road in Stockton.
