CARMICHAEL, CA - Detectives with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department were piecing together why a man was shot at a Carmichael home Monday afternoon.
The shooting was on the 4700 block of Haskell Avenue. Sheriff's deputies were first called at approximately 2:45 p.m. to respond to an attack, said sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos.
The victim, 24-year-old Andrew David Coy, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body, Ramos said. Paramedics' live-saving efforts couldn't save him.
According to authorities on scene, the shooting may be connected to a Craigslist transaction or an online deal involving watercraft.
A dark sedan was witnessed leaving the area about the same time. Investigators think it may be related to the killing.
There was another man in the house. Investigators say he was being questioned a possible witness.
