EAST SACRAMENTO, CA - A 3-year-old girl died Monday after getting hung up in a set of mini blinds at a home on the 5500 block of M Street.

Sacramento Fire Department Assistant Chief Niko King said Voxie O'Hara Hendrix Beckett's parents placed her and her 2-year-old sibling down for a nap and left the room.  When they returned to check on the children, they found Voxie tangled in the cord of the blinds.

First responders arrived at the east Sacramento home around 3:30 p.m. and immediately began CPR on Beckett.

She was then rushed to Sutter Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

According to King, the cause of death had yet to be determined, but officials were treating the incident as an accident.
