SACRAMENTO, CA - A couple of suspected thieves picked the wrong music store to unload stolen CDs Friday morning.

An employee of The Beat on J Street knew the owner of the CDs and contacted him, said Sacramento police. Police were also called.

Police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said the owner of the CDs didn't know thieves had hit on the Public Storage at 7510 Folsom Boulevard where he kept his CDs, nor did the owner of the facility.

Officers determined up to 15 lockers had been broken into, with the thieves replacing the locks so the break-ins were undetected.

Police detained a man at the music store and found the woman he had been with at a nearby motel. Pettit said officers also found more stolen items in the motel room.

The pair were expected to be booked on theft charges later Friday, Pettit said.
