Liza Costello of Modesto found safe after being reported as possibly kidnapped by her boyfriend on August 6.
Eric Davis, discovered with missing pregnant Modesto woman Liza Costello on Tuesday, August 7.
MODESTO, CA - A 21-year-old pregnant woman from Modesto was possibly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Sunday night, Modesto police said.
Family reported Liza Costello missing Monday around 1 a.m. after her mother found a note from Costello in her bedroom, Lt. Rick Armendariz said.
The note said Costello's ex-boyfriend Eric Davis, 22, threatened to break all the windows in the home if she did not come outside and talk to him. The note said Costello was going outside to meet him and if she didn't return in 5 minutes to call the police.
Costello's mother saw the note when she woke up during the night to check on her daughter.
Armendariz said Costello is 9-months pregnant and that Davis is believed to be the father of the baby. Costello has two other children ages 1 and 3, who were at the Modesto residence when Costello disappeared.
Police now believe she is being held against her will by Davis.
"That's because of the fact she has two children and that she left abruptly. There's no indication that she packed. Then there's the fact that she's 9 month pregnant and the note," Armendariz said.
Costello's family said Davis was abusive to Costello in the past. She broke up with Davis recently, moved out of their Fresno home and into her mother's home in Modesto.
Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Costello called her mother and said she needed help before the call was suddenly ended.
Costello is described as 5-feet tall, weighing 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and pink sweatpants with the word "Pink" down the side.
Davis is described as 5'11" tall, weighing 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to visit hotels in around Fresno.
