SACRAMENTO COUNTY-- A fire in a building near the corner of Ascot Avenue and Raley Boulevard sent a thick blanket of smoke over the area Friday Morning.

The fire was reported just after 2 a.m., but firefighters on the scene say it may have been burning for an hour before it was spotted.

They say they believe the building had been abandoned for at least 10 years.  A pickup truck and grass near the building also burned.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department crews say at this point, they don't know yet if the fire was started by the truck driving on dry grass and spread to the building, or if it started in the building and spread to the truck.

No injuries were reported.
