GUINDA, CA - A fire has been growing near the small town of Guinda Saturday morning; burning through grass and oak woodlands.
According to Daniel Berlant with Cal Fire, the fire started around 10 a.m. and has had a moderate rate of spread.
The fire is now 550 acres and is 15 percent is contained. Many resources are on scene but more are being called for.
Berlant said they are requesting five water tenders, five TI/TII engines and five TIII engines.
There are approximately 400 firefighters currently battling the blaze.
A shift in winds is how pushing the fire northeast and is threatening several homes.
Guinda lies south of Rumsey Canyon in Yolo County and about six miles north of Cache Creek Casino Resort.
