AUBURN, CA - The Robbers Fire, that burned for more than a week in Placer County's Foresthill area, was fully contained Friday.
The fire started on July 11th and burned 2,650 acres, destroyed one home and four out-buildings.
A 28-year-old Sacramento man was arrested Friday for allegedly starting the nine day fire that forced the evacuation of 170 homes.
CalFire Unit Chief Brad Harris said tips led them to suspect Bryon Craig Mason.
An incendiary device involving a pyrotechnic ignited the 2,650-acre fire which started on Yankee Jims Road, Harris said. It hasn't been determined if the fire was accidental or intentional.
"Started recklessly and cause over $13 million in damage," Harris said.
Mason was arrested at his workplace Friday afternoon. He was booked into Placer County Jail on a charge of unlawfully causing a fire when recklessly setting fire or burns or causes to be burned, any structure, forest land or property.
