SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Highway Patrol says a car carrier struck sand barrels lining a construction zone on southbound Interstate 5 Thursday afternoon, ending with the big rig and sand strewn across all but one lane.
The 2:18 p.m. crash in the area of Freeport Boulevard also involved one car and backed-up traffic for two and half hours.
Injuries were minor, said the CHP.
All lanes were reopened just before 5 p.m.
