FOLSOM, CA - Folsom police officers responded to a burglary call Monday morning to find a shotgun wielding man running from the house; moments after he was disarmed and held at gunpoint by the victim he was allegedly trying to rob.
According to Sergeant Jason Browning, the victim told officers that he arrived home and found Kevion Lloyd Olson in his bedroom, armed with a shotgun. A struggle ensued and three shots were fired into the ceiling and wall.
Eventually the victim said he was able to disarm Olson. He held him at gunpoint while he called police.
Just as officers were arriving the victim said that Olson managed to grab the shotgun back and fled from the house.
Browning said officers saw Olson running from the house with the shotgun in hand. Olson reached a vehicle and fled with officers close behind.
The chase lasted only a quarter-mile before officers cornered Olson and took him into custody without incident.
According to Browning, no gunshot injuries were sustained by either party; however each sustained minor injuries from the altercation.
Olson was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on charges of attempted murder, burglary, and evading police.
