SACRAMENTO, CA - A man is in jail after a traffic stop turned into assault against an officer Friday night, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Sergeant Andrew Pettit said that officers responded to a traffic accident on Jibboom Street and found 21-year-old Joel Fittro suffering from injuries and appearing to be under the influence of alcohol.
Pettit said that officers attempted to transport Fittro to the hospital but he began to bang his head against the metal bars that line the windows of the patrol car.
The officers stopped to restrain Fittro even further to protect him from harming himself.

Fittro was restrained again and given medical attention.
