SACRAMENTO - A man suspected of committing three robberies, two attempted robberies, and evading arrest was caught and arrested in Sacramento on July 2.

According to Sergeant Andrew Pettit of the Sacramento Police Dept., Christopher Montgomery, 30, was wanted as a suspect in a string of robberies occurring at three Subway restaurants, one Little Ceasars pizzeria and a CPC Bakery on June 23 and July 2.

Pettit said Montgomery began his suspected crime spree on June 23 at the Subway sandwich shop on the 1500 block of W. El Camino Ave. According to Pettit, Montgomery entered the shop, pointed a gun at a female employee and demanded money. When the woman called out to a coworker in the back of the business, Montgomery fled on foot.

On July 2, Montgomery was suspected of targeting four locations within the span of one hour and 20 minutes, said Pettit.

Montgomery, armed with a handgun, entered the Little Ceasars on the 2400 block of Rio Linda Blvd at 2:09 p.m. He demanded money from the clerk, but fled on foot without any cash, Pettit said.

Montgomery then went to the Subway on the 4200 block of Norwood Ave. at 2:22 p.m. Once again, he demanded money at gunpoint, but this time left the shop with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Pettit.

37 minutes later, Montgomery was suspected of entering another Subway on the 2500 block of W. El Camino Ave. and robbing the store at gunpoint around 2:50 p.m. before fleeing.

Montomery's alleged crime spree came to a conclusion 21 minutes later when he was reported as robbing the CPC Bakery, also on the 2500 block of W. El Camino Ave. Officers arrived at the scene as Montgomery was leaving the area in a vehicle and a pursuit ensued, said Pettit.

When officers eventually stopped the vehicle, Montgomery exited and challenged the officers, Pettit said. In response, the officers tased and arrested Montgomery.
