FAIRFIELD, CA - A 15-year-old Fairfield boy was booked into Juvenile Hall over the weekend after police say he stabbed his 29-year-old stepfather five times to protect his mother.
Officer Cleo Mayoral of the Fairfield Police Dept. said the boy saw his stepdad hit his mother in the face several times on Sunday, so he grabbed a seven-inch knife and stabbed the man five times in the upper back.
Fairfield police were called to the family's home on the 700 block of Georgia Way around 11:40 p.m. and found the stepfather suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medical assistance was called to the scene and the man was transported to NorthBay Medical Center with serious, but non life-threatening injuries, said Mayoral.
The boy was booked into Juvenile Hall for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The stepfather was not arrested due to his injuries and pending medical treatment, but a criminal complaint was filed against him with the District Attorney's office, requesting a charge of Felony Domestic Violence, Mayoral said.
The boy's mother sustained facial injuries during the suspected domestic abuse, but declined medical assistance, said Mayoral.
