SACRAMENTO - A "major" in-flight emergency ended safely at Mather Airport on Friday when a plane carrying eight people touched down without incident.
According to Matt Hosford of the FAA, the emergency was initially reported around 10:45 a.m. as the Learjet "diverted to Mather after declaring an emergency due to a rough running right engine."
The pilot remained in a holding pattern to burn fuel, then landed safely around 11:17 a.m., said Hosford.
No one onboard was injured in the event, according to Hosford.
