FAIRFIELD, CA - A double homicide suspect was arrested in Los Angeles Tuesday after the U.S. Marshals stepped in to help the Fairfield Police Department with the investigation.
Marcel Rutherford-Chew, 18, of East Palo Alto, was identified as one of two suspects in a double murder that happened in Fairfield on March 7, Fairfield police Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.
Second suspect Darren Trahan, 22, from East Palo Alto, was previously arrested, but later released due to lack of evidence, said Hurlbut.

Fairfield police enlisted the assistance of Marshals Service to help track Chew.
On June 26, around Noon, authorities successfully tracked Chew to a residence in the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles.
Fairfield police detectives took custody of Chew and transported him to Fairfield where he was booked at the Solano County Jail on the outstanding murder warrants in addition to two unrelated burglary warrants that were issued in Redwood.
