Sacramento court official pleads no contest to sex crime

SACRAMENTO, CA - The former Sacramento County Juvenile Court official charged with sexual annoyance of a child faced the count in court on Wednesday.

According to Sacramento County District Attorney Jan Scully, Daniel Horton pled no contest to the misdemeanor charge. 

The charge alleged that in February Horton approached a girl he believed to be under 18 and attempted to take nude pictures of her for an adult magazine.

Judge Richard Couzens sentenced Horton to 3 years probation. He must serve 90 days in custody which will consist of either house arrest or work project duty.

Horton must also register as a sex offender for life and complete a sex offender management program.
