Motorcyclist injured in crash with Sacramento police car

SACRAMENTO, CA - A motorcyclist was injured after a crash with a Sacramento police car Friday afternoon.

The motorcyclist and the Sacramento police officer crashed when the officer, traveling westbound on North Avenue, made a left turn onto Marysville Boulevard; the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Marysville Boulevard.

The officer was responding to a call, not pursuing the motorcyclist, when the crash happened.

Sacramento police Sgt. Matt Young said the officer was not injured; the motorcyclist suffered broken bones and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
