Crews contain 43 acre grass fire in Wilton

WILTON, CA - Crews battled a 43 acre grass fire Monday evening that was just northeast of Wilton.

The fire started at 4:45 p.m. at Orange Road and Berry Road, Sacramento Metro Fire Assist. Chief Scott Cockrum said.

Crews from Wilton Fire Department, Cal Fire and Sacramento Metro Fire worked to contain the blaze.

The fire destroyed a barn, which had some small tractors and other small items. A neighbor rescued two horses from the flames.

No one was injured in the fire; the cause of the fire is unknown.
