SACRAMENTO - The Sacramento police department is searching for a shooting suspect after a 17-year-old is shot to death early Saturday morning.
A call came into the police department a little after 12:30 a.m. to report gunfire in the area of the 7800 block of Detroit Blvd in Sacramento.
When officers arrived to the scene they located a victim who suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body.
A witness told officers that there were sounds of a verbal altercation just before the shooting.
The police department is actively investigating the circumstances that lead to the homicide.
The victim has not yet been identified and police say that a motive for this shooting is not known.
