AUBURN, CA - A sinkhole caused by a broken water main shut down a section of High Street Thursday night.

High Street between Auburn Folsom Road and Pleasant Avenue was closed off just before 10 p.m., Auburn police said.

Auburn city crews made the necessary repairs and High Street opened to traffic again at 2:44 p.m. Friday, according to Bernie Schroeder, Public Works Director. Water service has been restored too.
