SACRAMENTO, CA - A massive volunteer effort was in high gear Saturday to clean up a south Sacramento park.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints joined with Councilwoman Bonnie Pannell's office to give North Laguna Creek Park a cleaning and facelift.
Between 800 and 1,000 volunteers painted, built new bar-b-cue pits and restored benches and picnic tables, among many other things.
With dwindling budgets, the city has come to rely on volunteers to help keep parks clean.
