SPOKANE, WA - A former Yuba City High School principal died from brain injuries five days after being assaulted while trying to break up an underage drinking party at a neighbor's home, a Spokane TV station reports.
Frank Motta was principal at the Yuba school from 1993 to 1996. He retired in 2008 and moved to the Spokane area.
KXLY says Motta had agreed to keep an eye on the north Spokane home while his neighbors were away.
An 18 year old man is in custody in the crime.
Motta died last Thursday. He was 65.
