SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA - An elderly Delta man lost not just his boat, but his home Wednesday afternoon when his boat home took on water.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard rescued the man off his sinking house boat in the Delta off of Grimes Road near Tracy.

According to a clerk at the Oasis Marina, a UPS driver noticed the boat was taking on water as he drove passed and called 911 from the marina. The man started docking his house boat in the slough a few years prior, said the clerk.
Sheriff's spokesman Les Garcia said the man was taken to a local hospital for unknown medical reasons.
Garcia said investigators are still trying to determine why the boat beached and took on water.
