ELK GROVE, CA - 104 students stayed home from Ellen Fiekert Elementary School in Elk Grove on Thursday with symptoms of stomach flu.
Elk Grove School District spokeswoman Elizabeth Graswich said the children suffered from nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Parents were sent letters informing them of the outbreak and advising them to keep their children at home for a 24-hour period as a precautionary measure.
The school was deeply cleaned down following the outbreak and would resume as normal on Friday, said Graswich.
