RIO LINDA, CA - A woman in her 40s was found dead in her car in the 2600 block of Q St. in Rio Linda on Wednesday.
Deputy Jason Ramos of the Sacramento county Sheriff's Dept. said two men were seen in the location yelling about a woman found dead inside the vehicle.
Deputies were called and arrived around 4:15 p.m., prior to which paramedics had already pronounced the woman dead at the scene, said Ramos.
According to Ramos, the woman had been discovered in the driver's seat of the small sedan with no signs of trauma. A preliminary investigation showed no obvious cause of death.
An ensuing investigation conducted by homicide detectives and CSI personnel could not determine the incident had been a homicide. Ramos said investigator would await findings from the Sacramento County Coroner's Office on the cause of death.
UPDATE: The woman was identified Thursday morning as Julia A. Steffes, 46, of Rio Linda.
