STOCKTON, CA - A Good Samaritan helped save the life of a Stockton family early Friday morning.

A man driving by the family's home on Benjamin Holt Drive around 4:45 a.m. saw smoke coming from roof of the house.

He parked the car, ran to the front door and banged on it to wake up the sleeping family.

Wayne Setness, his children, his elderly mother and dog were all in the burning house when the fire alarms started to sound. However, the alarm did not wake them up.

Setness said the man saved their lives by waking them up and warning them about the fire.
