Stockton train derailment causes traffic back-up

STOCKTON, CA - Police urge drivers to avoid the area of Wilson Way and Roosevelt Street for a freight train derailment.

No one has been hurt.

According to a witness, the end of the train jumped the tracks and hit at least between six and eight cars and a tree. The track runs down the middle of the street.

The train was carrying steel.

There was no immediate word when the streets would be cleared or what caused the derailment.
