NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA - A man was shot while inside of his car Thursday on Walerga Road and Elkhorn Boulevard.
The man was sitting in his car across the street from a .99 Cent Store when the suspect shot him and fled the scene on foot, Sacramento County Deputy Jason Ramos said.
The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Ramos said.
The victim told police the suspect was a male wearing a camo jacket.
Ramos said the victim is a known gang member and investigators believe the shooting was gang related.
