STOCKTON - A story News10 broke about a ban on Christmas displays at one Stockton school was the focus of a The Armstrong and Getty Radio Show on Tuesday.

News10 Reporter Tim Daly joined the show on the phone.

Daly reported last week on the situation at Claudia Landeen School in the Lincoln Unified School District.

Teachers there have been told they can't display Santas, Christmas Trees or Poinsettia plants because of religious concerns.

Armstrong and Getty asked Daly if he knew what the motivation was for the ban.

"How did Santa get on the religious list? I don't know who many people read the New Testament, but Santa makes few if any appearances," said Armstrong and Getty.

"I should be fair. This is going on at one K through 8 school in the Lincoln school district in Stockton," said Daly. "The superintendent says he's allowing all principals to decide what's appropriate for their particular location."

The Armstrong and Getty Show airs on stations KSTE in Sacramento, KWSX in Stockton and KNEW in San Francisco.
