BERKELEY, CA - There was a shooting in a computer lab classroom at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday.

The school said on its website that a man carrying a gun was seen by a faculty member. University police were called and three officers located the individual in the lab where there were at least four students.

Police said they ordered the man to raise his hands. When he raised a gun, he was shot by one officer, officials said.

The man was taken into custody and was conscious when he was transported to Highlands Hospital in Oakland. His condition was not known and his name was not released.

A gun was recovered, officials said in a news conference later.

No one else is at large.

The campus was the site of several teach-ins and demonstrations Tuesday in support of the Occupy movement. It was not known if the man with the gun was connected to the campus strike.
