STOCKTON, CA - After 12 hours, police have cleared the scene of a police standoff in Stockton.
Both San Jose police units and Stockton police units responded to a home on McDougald Boulevard.
San Jose police spokesperson Jose Garcia said the police had reason to believe the suspect was at the home on McDougald Boulevard, but he was not there.
Stockton police also left the area. By 8:15 p.m., only two Stockton police cars were on the 800 block of Raysilva Circle.
As the police tape was being taken down, police allowed residents to return to their homes.
San Jose Police are looking for Steve Ruis who is suspected of murdering Hells Angels member Steve Tausan at a funeral in San Jose on October 15th.
Around 4 p.m. police pushed back the perimeter from the intersection of McDougald Boulevard and Ishi Goto Street blocking all public access to the area.
San Jose police bomb squad, SWAT and K9 units were called to the scene. The Stockton Fire Department arrived around 4 p.m.
Guillermo Rodriguez, who lives four houses down from the police activity, said two kids and a woman left the home before police set off smoke bombs in the morning.
Rodriguez said the woman was taken from the scene in a police car.
Other neighbors said they believe the standoff is connected to the Hells Angel murder in San Jose earlier this month.
