STOCKTON, CA- The woman accused of running down a 3-year-old boy in a Stockton minimart parking lot and then fleeing was in court Wednesday.

Aushua McDuff-Brown was charged with premeditated murder and a hit and run resulting in death.

Last Monday, 3-year-old Ruben Ramirez was hit by a car in Madison Street Market's parking lot. After hitting the child, the driver fled the scene.

Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified McDuff-Brown as a suspect after witnesses said she got into an argument with another woman and tried to run her over with her car, but instead hit the toddler.

Ramirez's family, including his mother Deleshia Mason were in court.

"She is taking it hard, it was her only child," Ruben's grandmother Mary Booker said.

The judge postponed the arraignment until Oct. 28.

McDuff-Brown is being held on a $3 million bond.
