ANTIOCH, CA (BCN) - An Amtrak train crashed into a semi-trailer truck in Contra Costa County Friday night, an Amtrak spokeswoman said.

Amtrak San Joaquin train No. 718 departed from Oakland at 5:50 p.m. and was bound for Bakersfield, spokeswoman Vernae Grahan said.

The train struck the truck at around 7:30 p.m. just east of Antioch. It wasn't immediately known if the truck had stopped on the tracks or was clearing it when the train hit it. The truck driver was not hurt.

There were 204 passengers aboard the train. Some minor to moderate injuries - mostly bumps and bruises - were reported, according to Grahan.

The train did not derail.

It wasn't clear if the passengers would be transferred to buses, another train or continue on the No. 718.
