SACRAMENTO, CA - Fire crews have recovered a person found floating facedown in the American River Friday afternoon.
The person was taken out of the water a mile and a half downriver from the Sunrise Boulevard bridge, according to the Sacramento Metro Fire District.
The victim was not wearing a life vest and not floatation devices were seen in the area, crews said.
Rescuers said the person did not have pulse. CPR was performed until an air ambulance arrived to take the person to Mercy San Juan Medical Center.
The rescue call went out about 1:30 p.m.
The person's condition was unknown.
