Land Park home invasion murder suspects sentenced

SACRAMENTO, CA - Three men were sentenced for the 2006 special circumstances murder of a Land Park 18 year old and 20 additional counts involving home invasions.

James Ramirez was found fatally shot on Jan. 3, 2006, at a home on the 4000 block of Francis Court.

The Sacramento police investigation determined Ramirez and another man had been kidnapped from their home at 18th Avenue and 21st Street and taken to the Francis Court address. Investigators said Alex Brown shot Ramirez there. The other victim was dropped off on the 2100 block of 21st Avenue.

David Carrera and Terry Alexander were also convicted of the crimes.

Brown was sentenced in Sacramento County Superior Court to life without the possibility of parole, a consecutive indeterminate term of 257 years to life, and an additional consecutive 287 years 4 months in prison.

Carrera was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, a consecutive indeterminate term of 977 years to life, and an additional consecutive 493 years in prison.

Alexander was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, a consecutive indeterminate term of 232 years to life, and an additional consecutive 246 years 4 months in prison.
