SACRAMENTO, CA - Seeking to bring awareness to the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and naturopathic medicine, four men on a 3,250 cross-country run across the U.S. passed through Sacramento Thursday.
Dr. Dennis Goody practices naturopathic medicine. He sees the run as an opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle by working toward balance in diet, exercise and medications.
Running with Goody are his sons Isaiah, 20, and Jeremiah, 18, and Goody's nephew Jonas, 21. Jonas' mother is battling a second occurence of cancer with chemotherapy and naturopathic therapy and supplements. Jonas said she overcame her first cancer diagnosis with similar treatment and that inspires him to run while his effort inspires her.
The men embarked on their trek last Sunday from San Francisco. They run 30 miles a day and expect their trip to take four months. They are recounting their experiences on therun.org.
