STOCKTON, CA - A 66-year-old man was shot after he refused to turn over his wallet and money Monday around 1:45 p.m. on American Street and Fremont Street.

Stockton police Lt. Tom Jernigan said the shooting is similar to last week's bakery shooting.

The man was flagged down by one of the suspects, parked, and then got of his vehicle to talk to the suspect. Then two other suspects walked up to the victim, pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

When the victim refused, the suspect shot him in the leg, said Jernigan. The victim's injury was non-life threatening.

Jernigan said the shooting took place about five minutes from the bakery.

The description of the suspects is very vague, Jernigan said, and cannot say if the bakery shooting and this incident are connected, yet.
