Gavin Maloof talks to News10's Ryan Yamamoto

SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento Kings co-owner Gavin Maloof arrived in Sacramento on Wednesday afternoon, for the first time in months, and headed to Power Balance Pavilion to address his employees at Maloof Sports and Entertainment.

Maloof wanted to thank the employees for their patience, and sticking with the company while they flirted with idea of uprooting the franchise from Sacramento to Anaheim.

The employees welcomed Maloof with applause, who just this past Monday incited a collective sigh of relief among the workers by announcing that his family would not opt to file for relocation to Anaheim.

After several employees, including executives left the organization during the uncertainty of the team's future in Sacramento, Maloof felt he owed his patient employees his gratitude.

"I just thanked them; it's been a trying time for all of us," Maloof told News10. "We have wonderful, dedicated employees, that we love and I just came in to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

"Their loyalty to our family meant a lot to us and they never wavered in their support for us...it was really a nice meeting," Maloof said.

Since Monday's decision to remain in Sacramento, Kings employees have been inundated with new season ticket purchases and renewals. Maloof said he was "blown away" by the buzz in the city and estimated season ticket purchases to be in the thousands.

Maloof took the opportunity to cite the team's loyal fan base and financial support from the local business community for the reason his family chose to remain in Sacramento, for at least a season longer.

"I never envisioned this, it is really heartwarming to us," Maloof said. "It was incredible. My family wants to thank everyone in this community, for helping us and this organization. We're going to bring you a winner."
