Elk Grove accident send two to the hospital

ELK GROVE, CA - A stretch of Laguna Boulevard near Bruceville in Elk Grove has re-opened after being closed for several hours this morning following a car that crashed into some trees. The intersection re-opened to traffic just before 7:30 a.m.

Elk Grove police spokesman Officer Chris Trim said an SUV hit a tree near Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville around 3 a.m. Both the driver and the passenger had to be cut out of the SUV. The female driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries while the male passenger was treated for a cut to his head.

News10's Melissa Crowley suggested that anyone that normally takes that route could use Elk Grove Boulevard or Big Horn Boulevard to get around the accident or Sheldon if you are headed to Highway 99.
