SACRAMENTO, CA - One woman died, two others were injured and the driver has been arrested after a car hit a tree and then burst into flames Saturday morning.
In a news release, the California Highway Patrol said Ashley Marie McEntee, 20, died after the car she was a passenger in hit a tree going about 90 miles per hour at a home on Rudway Court. The driver, McEntee and another passenger, Rommel Borjas, 19, were all transported to the University of California Davis Medical Center.
McEntee was pronounced dead late Saturday night. Borjas was released from the hospital Sunday morning. The 17-year-old driver's name and condition have not been released because he is a minor.
The California Highway Patrol did say the driver was arrested but did not give specifics on that arrest. No one inside the home was hurt.
