If you're looking for a new home in the Sacramento area and have a couple million bucks to spend, you could soon be living like an NBA superstar -- literally.
Area realtors Thursday placed the palacial Granite Bay home of former Sacramento Kings star Chris Webber on the market with an asking price of $2.5 million.
The four-bedroom, three-bath Italian villa-style home in the exclusive Los Lagos community is described as a perfect bachelor pad for a young, rich athlete. The house is particularly tailored for someone with a love for automobiles. The 6,200 square foot home includes a massive garage with room for eight cars.
Webber, who was traded by the Kings to Philadelphia on February 24, bought the home nearly two years ago and had completed plenty of his own remodeling projects. Webber designed the expanded closet in the master bedroom, the shower with multiple water jets in the master bath and even the ornate chandelier that hangs in the dining room.
Realtor Barbara Tonso said Webber expected to be in the home for several years and had several more renovations in the works before the trade, including converting part of the garage into a home recording studio.
Tonso said they expect to find a buyer for the house in 30 to 45 days. A similar home could take between four to six months to sell, Tonso said.
