Couch potatos and fitness freaks alike tend to look at the various fitness video games as a convenient way to shed a few pounds and get healthier. A new study out of Michigan State University shows that those games might not be enough.
Initially, research showed exercise from playing this genre of video game might be a good replacement for traditional exercise. Now, it doesn't seem to be the case.
While it's a good fitness alternative for senior citizens and does motivate couch potatoes to burn a few calories, new studies show playing Wii, Kinect, and PlayStation Move fitness games do not get the blood pumping hard enough for already healthy people to reap the benefits.
