Due for release on September 27th, 2011, EA Sports' FIFA 12 features professional soccer clubs from all over the world.  This, of course, includes North America's Major League Soccer and with the game's development team sharing a city with a new MLS team, the league is getting some special attention.

"We're quite tied to the Vancouver Whitecaps.  They're our local team in their inaugural MLS season this year," said David Rutter, Line Producer for FIFA 12.  "[They] have actually come in for some special treatment this year as they are local, but ultimately the authenticity of the game is the bedrock of everything EA Sports does."

While the game will have a number of MLS teams on-disk, not all of the clubs in the league will be represented.  For fans of those teams which EA Sports decided to omit, an online tool for custom team creation can be found at www.EASportsFootball.com.

But even though not all of the professional soccer clubs of the MLS made the final cut, EA Sports and the FIFA 12 development team realize just how important North American soccer has become to the FIFA franchise.

Said Rutter, "North America is a very big deal as far as footsie's (soccer's) concerned."
