MULTI-MEDIA WRITER/PRODUCER
News10, a Gannett station in Sacramento, is seeking a multi-media writer/producer. The successful candidate will have a news philosophy that emphasizes story content over story count, and a tape that backs it up. Sound news judgment, great people skills, strong broadcast and online writing skills, and the ability to work with little supervision are necessities. Creative and critical thinking abilities are essential. This is an overnight/ early morning position.
Candidates would be expected to:
write for broadcast in a manner that engages viewers through compelling pictures and sound
produce newscasts that make creative use of graphics, live shots and pacing
Embraces immediacy by responding quickly to changing circumstances and breaking news with a willingness to change as needed
write for web
suggest and produce content that connects with our communities and reflects our values
look for opportunities to promote more interactivity with viewers and users.
ability to stream and post images online a plus
Minimum requirements include a B.A. in communications or journalism or equivalent, and minimum 2 years professional producing, news writing or related broadcast news experience.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ALL MEDIA, MORNINGS News10, has an immediate opening for an executive producer. The successful candidate will have a news philosophy that emphasizes story content over story count, and a tape that backs it up. Creative and critical thinking abilities are essential. This is an early morning position.
Candidates would be expected to:
* watch shows and website with a critical eye
* expand the online presence of News10 Good Morning
* plan for coverage, coordinating with dayside and nightside personnel
* have an eye for coverage that sets us apart
* build teams to tackle outstanding issues
* produce newscasts when needed
* identify more opportunities for live chat and interactivity with viewers/ users
Minimum requirements include a B.A. in communications or journalism or equivalent, and 3 years professional producing and news writing or related broadcast news experience. This must include a previous producing position at a commercial television station, with experience handling live shots and satellite feeds. MULTI-MEDIA JOURNALIST
News10, with a tradition of quality storytelling, is seeking a highly skilled journalist with experience or interest in expanding his or her role into that of an independent storyteller, on-air and online.
Responsibilities will include all aspects of producing a story; setting up, shooting, writing, editing, and on air/ online presentation.
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
minimum 3 years television news experience
experience shooting and editing stories as a “one-man band”
knowledge of non-linear edit systems
keen visual eye that produces exceptional images
knowledge of video streaming a plus
Motivation to produce strong balanced coverage for both on-air and online
Ability to work well in a high pressure, tight deadline environment
Interested in technological changes in the industry
Knowledge of California and Sacramento area a plus
Position may require an early morning, late night, or weekend shifts
