News10 Meteorologist Ashton Altieri
Ashton Altieri is NEWS10's Morning Meteorologist. He came to northern California from sister station KUSA in Denver in January 2012. He has also worked at TV stations in Michigan, Mississippi, and Iowa.
Ashton is an Eagle Scout who associates his passion for weather to earning the weather merit badge when he was young. A very memorable encounter with a nearby tornado while camping one summer in northern Michigan sealed his interest in the subject.
He graduated from Central Michigan University in 2002 with a degree in Meteorology and Broadcasting and also earned a Master of Science degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University in 2004.
Ashton was awarded the coveted Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation by the American Meteorological Society in 2008 and he also holds the Television Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.
